His grandmother whom lived with him throughout his life and great aunts are all singers, while his great Uncle, Count Robin, is a well known Calypsonian within Trinidad and the United States.  From a young age, he and his older brother, moved to Trinidad from the United States where they gained an appreciation for the colorful music of the country. After moving back to the United States at the age of 8, JAHBARI would sit in his room and listen to the music of his favorite artists, including Bob Marley, Michael Jackson, Boys II Men and most recently Akon , who he credits as his favorite artist. JAHBARI would always sing humorous songs that he penned himself around the family,  until his older and only sibling, Nkosi, saw that he had a great voice and that his talent was one to be taken seriously.
